A Year’s Quest – April

We focussed on how we can nurture relationships in February. This month we will take a more passive role by observing and reflecting. Here's how: Listening and appreciating another point of view. Treasuring an adventure. Recalling a good time. Enjoying now by singing.

April: Appreciate Others

Acknowledge Reality
Admit that you or someone else is feeling negative.  Keep it in perspective and remember feelings like clouds pass over.

Adventuring
Anticipate, savor, express and recall are four steps to get the most out of an outing. The key is timing. Anticipate beforehand. Savor and express during. Recall afterwards.

Wake Up with a Smile
Want to feel good in the morning? Smile, it biochemically helps you feel good.

Invest Time in a Project
Last month you challenged yourself. Did you accomplish your goal? If so, start a new project. If not, carry on!

    A Year’s Quest: November

November is about being considerate, thoughtful and polite. Being a buzzkill sucks out the positivity in a room. So instead of pointing out negative consequences, keep those to yourself. They contribute to a combative tone which is the opposite of what we are trying to achieve.

How do you live in the present? Try taking an improv class. You have to listen carefully to what is being said so you can add on. “Yes and” is the proper response to anything. Additional ways to be mindful are suggested in this blog.
